Minnesota: Deputy busted for DWI is also Manterville Mayor; says he’s sorry for his mistake

From ABC 6 NEWS
Austin MN (April 6, 2011) — ABC 6 first reported it more than a month ago when Mantorville Mayor Luke Nash crashed his car into a telephone pole while driving drunk.
Nash, who is also a Dodge County Deputy had a blood-alcohol level of .20 at the time of the crash, more than twice the legal limit.
Nash plead guilty to the offense just last week and for the first time he’s is giving his side of the story.
“I want to apologize for my error, my mistake, my lapse of judgment,” says Luke Nash.
A judgment call that could have cost him his life when he got behind the wheel drunk back in early February.
“You say you’re not going to drive and most people don’t, but there comes a  time when your judgment becomes impaired and you make decisions that are not correct,” he says.
But a mistake not expected from a Sheriff’s deputy and the Mayor of Mantorville.
