New Jersey: cop spots speeder, ends up with DUI arrest

Excessive Speed Revealed Impaired Driver
BUDD LAKE, N.J. (April 20, 2011) — Mount Olive Township, New Jersey Police report that on April 17, 2011 at 3:10 am, Officer Ryan Eastridge was on routine patrol when he observed a black Ford traveling on Rt. 206 N at a high rate of speed. Officer Eastridge executed a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle in the area of the Shell Gas Station in Roxbury. As Officer Eastridge approached the driver, he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was identified as Erin Primavera. Ms. Primavera was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety tests. Ms. Primavera was placed under arrest, and transported to police headquarters. She was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Speeding. Ms. Primavera was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing.
