New Jersey: Timothy Seidel charged with DUI death of Officer Christopher Reeves

MILLVILLE
— The man who authorities say caused the death of a local police officer in an early-morning accident in July was allegedly driving drunk when the crash occurred, Cumberland County’s top law-enforcement officer said Friday.
Timothy Seidel is now charged with driving while intoxicated, county Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae announced in a statement.
The 23-year-old Commercial Township man is also now charged with another count of reckless driving, she said.
Patrol Officer Christopher Reeves, 40, died after a car driven by Seidel crashed into his police cruiser at about 2:15 a.m. July 8 at Broad and Third streets.
