New York: DWI driver fled after running down 2 pedestrians, one died…killer had his child in his truck

Central Islip, NY  – Suffolk County Police have arrested an Islip Terrace man for driving while intoxicated with his child in the vehicle and fleeing the scene after he struck two pedestrians, one fatally, with his vehicle.
Victor Ventuzelo was driving a 2000 Ford F350 southbound on Lowell Avenue at Hemlock Street in Central Islip last night at approximately 10:30 p.m. when his vehicle struck two pedestrians, who were walking northbound.
Ventuzelo, who had his 9-year-old son in the vehicle with him, then fled the scene. The pedestrians, Laurance Grube and Warren Connolly, were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. Grube, 40, of 136 Patchogue Ave., Mastic, was pronounced dead a short time later and Connolly, 44, of 57 East Chestnut St., Central Islip, was listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.  …MORE
