New York: DWI driver ran into police car…that was the first part of his field sobriety test…Richard W. Jamerson sent to slammer

On 10/01/11 at 8:17 p.m., Richard W. Jamerson, 54, of 540 Martville Rd., Martville, NY, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Overtaking a Vehicle on the Left, following a two-car motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Town of Hannibal. Mr. Jamerson was arraigned before Town of Hannibal Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 11/01/11. Reportedly, a Deputy was operating a 2011 Ford patrol unit when, while turning right onto Martville Road off from 66 Road, he attempted to pull over to the side of the road. Mr. Jamerson, operating a 1994 Ford pickup truck also turned right onto Martville Road and started to turn to the outside of the patrol car when he reportedly drove into the side of the police vehicle. Improper turning and failure to yield the right of way appear to have been contributing factors in the incident.
