New York: guy with prior DWI conviction busts through fence in his SUV; cops say was texting and DUI

A Livingston County man was accused of driving drunk and texting while driving after he drove through a fence yesterday in Richmond, Ontario County.
Matthew Bartlett, 44, of Kellogg Road, Springwater, was charged last night with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, all felonies, according to Ontario County sheriff’s deputies.
While driving north on Curtis Road, Bartlett was allegedly sending a text message on his mobile phone, deputies said. He lost control of his sport utility vehicle and drove off the road, through a fence and into a nearby field just before 4 p.m. ….MORE
