Zechariah Karboski, of Mexico, N.Y. charged with DWI-drugs after he crashed into a school bus with six kids on board

New York State Police report that on April 8, 2019, at 2:20 p.m., Troopers responded to 3338 Main Street in the village of Mexico, New York, for a property damage accident involving a school bus.

The investigation has revealed Zechariah Karboski was operating a 2012 Ford traveling west on Main Street when he struck the rear of a Mexico School District School Bus that was stopped in traffic.  No injuries were reported by Karboski, the bus driver or the six students on the bus. 

A State Police DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) responded to the scene and conducted an evaluation of Karboski. Following the evaluation, Zechariah Karboski, age 29, from Mexico, NY was determined to be impaired and was charged with DWAI-Drugs.  He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Mexico Town Court on April 16, 2019, at 7:00 PM.

Melissa Carr took child for a booze cruise, say police

On April 10, 2019, Troopers out of SP Auburn arrested Melissa M. Carr, 33, of Hannibal, New York for driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated-with a child, operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection certificate, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and unsafe backing of a vehicle.

Troopers responded to a property damage accident on Slayton Road in the Town of Cato.  Carr was placed under arrest after failing standard field sobriety tests.  She was transported to SP Auburn where she provided a breath sample of .19% BAC.  Carr was arraigned in the Town of Conquest Court and released.  She is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Cato Court on April 29, 2019.

Marie French blew three times the legal limit when arrested for DWI

On April 9, 2019, State Police in Latham arrested 27-year-old Marie J. French of Green Island, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, State Police responded to a disabled vehicle on Interstate 787 in Albany. When the Trooper arrived, he spoke with a witness who stated that they had been following the vehicle when it stopped in the middle of the right lane, blocking traffic. As the Trooper approached the vehicle to interview the driver, he could smell the odor of alcohol coming from inside the car. The diver, Marie French, told the Trooper that her car had died in the middle of the road. French exhibited multiple signs of intoxication and was asked to exit the vehicle. She was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she failed. French was placed in custody and transported to SP Latham where she provided a breath sample of .25% B.A.C.
 French was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Albany City Court on April 15, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.

Drugged DWI driver Derrick Williams wanted to walk into traffic when stopped by Trooper

On April 8, 2019, State Police in Mayfield arrested 35-year-old Derrick O. Williams of Saratoga, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, and Disorderly Conduct.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Monday, State Police dispatched to check for an erratic operator traveling west on State Route 29A in the Town of Johnstown. A Trooper located the vehicle a short time later, after other motorists had flagged him down to tell him about the operator’s erratic driving. When the Trooper stopped the vehicle, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.


Williams was escorted from the vehicle, at which time he began screaming and yelling and attempting to walk in traffic

The driver, Derrick Williams, showed signs of impairment and was uncooperative, refusing to exit the vehicle as instructed. When a second patrol arrived on scene Williams was escorted from the vehicle, at which time he began screaming and yelling and attempting to walk in traffic. Williams was subsequently secured safely on the sidewalk. A search of the vehicle revealed that he was in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Williams refused attempts to administer the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was transported to SP Mayfield for processing. Once at the barracks Williams refused to submit to a chemical test.
 Williams was arraigned in Johnstown Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on May 1, at 5:00 p.m. A DMV Refusal Hearing is scheduled for April 18, at 10:00 a.m.

FROM TROOP E –
Troopers at Montgomery arrested Ronald D. Nicholson, age 52, a resident of Damascus, Virginia for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of Marihuana 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

Mr. Nicholson was stopped on Interstate 84 in the town of Newburgh for speeding.  Subsequent investigation and search of vehicle resulted in the confiscation of a loaded 45 caliber handgun and approximately three pounds of marihuana.

After being processed through the Montgomery Barracks, Mr. Nicholson was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Court by Town Justice Jude T. Martini who remanded him to Orange County Jail on $20,000.00 cash/bond bail. Mr. Nicholson is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Newburgh Court on April 16, 2019.

March 29, 2019:

On March 29, 2019, State Police Haverstraw arrested Eric Williams, age 32 of Westwood, NJ for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 59 in the town of Clarkstown when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 29, 2019, State Police Montgomery arrested Khadrey Merot, age 25 of New Windsor, NY for DWI. She was traveling on Broadway in the city of Newburgh when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 29, 2019, State Police Kingston arrested Dawn Seretta, age 49 of Greenfield, MA for DWI. She was traveling on State Route 23A in the town of Catskill when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 29, 2019, State Police Kingston arrested Gregg Decker, age 37 of Kingston, NY for DWI. He was traveling on Third Avenue in the city of Kingston when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 29, 2019, State Police Coxsackie arrested Jeffery Pascuzzi, age 42 of Coxsackie, NY for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 385 in the village of Coxsackie when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

March 30, 2019:

On March 30, 2019, State Police Haverstraw arrested Rudi Lemus Vasquez, age 32 of Garnerville, NY for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 202 in the town of Haverstraw when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 30, 2019, State Police Middletown arrested Sarah Tomczak, age 32 of Goshen, NY for DWI. She was traveling on Monhagen Avenue in the city of Middletown when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 30, 2019, State Police Middletown arrested Cesar Rivera Hernandez, age, 22 of Middletown, NY for DWI. He was traveling on Albert Street in the city of Middletown when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 30, 2019, State Police Highland arrested Travis Bauer, age 22 of Middletown, NY for DWI. He was traveling on Albany Post Road in the town of New Paltz when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 30, 2019, State Police Kingston arrested Shonta Drake, age 27 of Kingston, NY for Aggravated DWI, Leandra’s Law. She was traveling on Glasco Turnpike in the town of Saugerties when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by drugs and was traveling with a minor in the vehicle. She was subsequently arrested. 

On March 30, 2019, State Police Catskill arrested Brandon Dunn, age 21 of Hudson, NY for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 9W in the village of Catskill when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 30, 2019, State Police Coxsackie arrested Frank Watson, age 60 of Athens, NY for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 385 in the town of Coxsackie when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

She was traveling on State Route 81 in the town of Coxsackie when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

March 31, 2019:

On March 31, 2019, State Police Haverstraw arrested Timothy McKnight, age 29 of New Rochelle, NY for DWI. He was traveling on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the town of Clarkstown when his vehicle became stuck in the mud in the center median. Troopers responded to offer assistance. While speaking to McKnight, troopers determined that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

On March 31, 2019, State Police Haverstraw arrested Kaleem King, age 26 of New Windsor, NY for DWI. He was traveling on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the town of Orangetown when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Monroe arrested Courtney Smith, age 44 of Middletown, NY for DWI. She was traveling on State Route 17M in the village of Monroe when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Monroe arrested Andrew Nix, age 28 of Glenwood, NJ for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 94 in the town of Warwick when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Hamptonburg arrested Diego Munoz, age 21 of Montgomery, NY for DWI. He was traveling on Little Britain Road in the city of Newburgh when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Montgomery arrested Astria Juarez, age 27 of Bloomingburg, NY for DWI. She was traveling on Water Street in the city of Newburgh when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Montgomery, arrested Xavier Brito age 25 of Bronx, NY for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 299 in the town of Lloyd when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Highland arrested Lynn Conte, age 64 of Poughkeepsie, NY for DWI. She was traveling on State Route 299 in the town of Lloyd when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Montgomery arrested Astria Juarez, age 27 of Bloomingburg, NY for DWI. She was traveling on Water Street in the city of Newburgh when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Kingston arrested Thomas Maucher, age 64 of Rosendale, NY for DWI. He was traveling on Creek Locks Road in the town of Rosendale when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

On March 31, 2019, State Police Kingston arrested Patrick Greaven, age 60 of Milton, NY for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 32 in the town of Rosendale when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

April 1, 2019:

On April 1, 2019, State Police Kingston arrested Marciea Prout, age 42 of Lake Katrine, NY for DWAI Drugs. She was traveling on Cornell Street in the city of Kingston when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by drugs and was subsequently arrested. 

On April 1, 2019, State Police Catskill arrested Sandy Samuels, age 57 of Catskill, NY for DWI. He was traveling on Bridge Street in the village of Catskill when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

FROM TROOP A – On April 14th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Deven Dudenhoeffer, 30, of Kennedy, for Driving While Intoxicated.

On April 12th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Emily Rechin, 25, of Bemus Point, for Driving While Intoxicated.

The Troopers responded to Dutch Hollow Road in Bemus Point for a report of a vehicle off the road, and placed Rechin under arrest after failing several SFSTs. Rechin was transported to SP Jamestown where she provided a breath sample of .15. Rechin was then processed, issued tickets returnable to the town of Ellery Court and released. Rechin is scheduled to appear in the town of Ellery Court on a later date.  Rechin was uninjured from dirving her vehicle off the road.  

Dudenhoeffer was pulled over on Route 62 in Kennedy for traffic violations and after failing several SFSTs, Dudenhoeffer was placed under arrest. Dudenhoeffer was transported to SP Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of .14. Dudenhoeffer was then processed, issued traffic tickets and released. Dudenhoeffer is scheduled to appear in the town of Poland Court later in the month.

On April 14th, 2019, Troopers out of State Police Barrack at Jamestown arrested Kayla Nefedov, 21, of Randolph, for Driving While Intoxicated.

Nefedov was pulled over on Route 394 in Kennedy for traffic violations and after failing several SFSTs, Nefedov was placed under arrest. Nefedov was transported to SP Jamestown where she provided a breath sample of .11. Nefedov was then processed, issued tickets and released. Nefedov is scheduled to appear in the town of Poland Court later in the month.

Alexis Holman charged with DWI while Grey brothers showed they were short on gray matter

New York State Police report that oOn March 17, 2019, at approximately 1:44 a.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F-150 on State Route 9N in Ticonderoga for speeding, 65 mph in a 45 mph zone.

The operator Alexis P. Holman, 24, of Ticonderoga, was subsequently arrested for DWI. Her passengers, 25-year-old Robert H. Grey, and 24-year-old Ryun T. Grey, also of Ticonderoga, and both highly intoxicated, became combative with the investigating troopers. They were taken into custody.

The two Grey’s were each charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nddegree, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct. During processing at SP Crown Point, Ryun Grey kicked a hole in the wall of the State Police station. He was additionally charged with Criminal Mischief 4th degree.

Holman’s blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.09%. She was charged with DWI and additionally ticketed for speed in zone.

All three defendants were released with appearance tickets to appear in Ticonderoga Town Court.

Members from Troop “C” took several drivers off the road that were unable to operate a vehicle safely off the road.  The DWI and DWAI arrests are listed below.

On March 31, 2019 at approximately 11:01 a.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Robert E. Hoyle, age 56 of Apalachin, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.  A trooper was dispatched to a report of a male unresponsive in the cab of a truck in the Speedway parking lot on State Route 434 in Owego.  An investigation revealed that Hoyle drove his semi-truck over a curb and into a light post.  He was cared for by Apalachin EMS on scene and transported to Wilson Hospital.  Hoyle was issued appearance tickets returnable to the town of Owego Court on April 16, 2019 and released.

On April 3, 2019 at approximately 4:45 p.m., New York State Police at Whitney Point arrested Diane T. Jones for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .24%.  A trooper was dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on King Street in the town of Barker.  The trooper learned that Jones had left the area.  The trooper’s investigation determined that Jones was picked up from the scene of the crash and dropped off at her residence.  She was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated then later released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Barker Court on April 9, 2019.

On April 4, 2019 at approximately 2:01 a.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Mallory A. Bufalini of Sherburne, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .13%.  Troopers checked on a disabled vehicle on State Highway 12 in the town of Sherburne when they observed several common characteristics associated with alcohol intoxication.  After an investigation, it was determined Bufalini drove her vehicle impaired and she was arrested.  Bufalini was later released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Sherburne Court on April 25, 2019.

On April 8, 2019 at approximately 3:23 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Colden C. Knapp, age 27 of King Ferry, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .20%.  A trooper was dispatched to a report of a car in the ditch off East Shore Drive in the town of Lansing.  Knapp was evaluated by Bangs Ambulance personnel but refused treatment.  After an investigation, he was arrested for Aggravated DWI.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Lansing Court on April 23, 2019 then turned over to a sober third party. 
**On April 9, 2019 at approximately 10:20 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Kimberly M. McBrien, age 24 of Endicott, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .13%.  A trooper stopped McBrien after she observed her speeding while on West Main Street in the village of Endicott.  After an investigation, the trooper determined McBrien was intoxicated and she was arrested.  McBrien was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the village of Endicott court on May 1, 2019 then turned over to a sober third party.

On April 10, 2019 at approximately 12:31 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Edward N. Skillen, age 59 of Milford, NY for the felony of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (with a prior conviction within 10 years).  A trooper observed Skillen speeding while in a school zone in the Milford School zone and initiated a traffic stop.  After an investigation, he was arrested for DWAI.  Skillen was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Milford Court on April 16, 2019.

On April 10, 2019 at approximately 10:51 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Veronica R. Kelly, age 55 of Tioga, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper was dispatched to a complaint of a possibly intoxicated driver on the road.  The trooper observed Kelly speeding while on State Route 17C leaving the village of Owego and into the town of Tioga.  The trooper also observed the vehicle Kelly was operating cross over the double yellow center line and to have an equipment violation.  A traffic stop was initiated and after an investigation, she was arrested.  Kelly’s reportable B.A.C of .19%.  She was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Tioga court on April 24, 2019 the released to a sober third party.

 On April 12, 2019 at approximately 5:55 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Kathleen P. Stever, age 20 of Endwell, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  She was also issued traffic tickets, including one for refusal to submit to a breath test.  Troopers were dispatched to East Main Road in the town of Union for a vehicle in the ditch.  Trooper observed that Stever appeared to be impaired.  After an investigation, she was arrested.  Stever was processed and released on traffic tickets returnable to the town of Union Court on May 7, 2019 then turned over to a sober third party.

On April 13, 2019 at approximately 2:10 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Wayne A. Redmond, age 25 of New Berlin, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers responded to one car in the ditch with damage to its bumper on West Street in the town of Oneonta.  Troopers observed several common characteristics associated with alcohol impairment as they interviewed Redmond.  After an investigation, he was subsequently arrested.  Redmond was arraigned in the town of Oneonta court and remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.

On April 13, 2019 at approximately 2:30 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Andrew R. Baker, age 30 of Ithaca, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers observed the vehicle Baker was operating speeding while on State Route 13 in the village of Lansing.  After they initiated a traffic stop, they discovered that Baker was impaired and arrested.  His reportable B.A.C was .12%.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Lansing court on April 25, 2019 and turned over to a sober third party.

On April 13, 2019 at approximately 3:10 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Jason K. Robertson, age 32 of Port Crane, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched to check on a vehicle stopped in the center of State Route 11 in Kirkwood that was blocking traffic.  Troopers found both the driver and passenger sleeping in the vehicle that was still running.  Troopers were able to awake both occupants.  Troopers arrested Robertson for DWI, with a reportable B.A.C of .10%.  The passenger requested to go to the hospital and was transported to Lourdes Hospital.  Robertson was later released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Kirkwood Court on April 18, 2019 and turned over to a sober third party.

On April 13, 2019 at approximately 4:18 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Juanleiko M. Williams, age 25 of Frankfort, NY for the misdemeanors of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree.  Troopers observed the vehicle Williams was operating speeding while on State Highway 20 in the town of Bridgewater, turn onto State Route 8 at a high rate of speed then stop in a driveway, back into a driveway then continue on State Route 8 at a high rate of speed.  A traffic stop was initiated and troopers discovered Williams’ license was suspended and he was impaired.  His reportable B.A.C was .18%.  There were three other passengers in the vehicle, one was issued a ticket for possessing an open container.  Williams was arraigned in the town of Bridgewater Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.  His next court date will be in the town of Bridgewater Court on April 15, 2019.

On April 13, 2019 at approximately 6:47 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested LaRon L. Barclay, age 27 of Ithaca, NY for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Impaired with a Child 15 or Under as Passenger (Leandra’s Law).  Troopers were dispatched to a domestic dispute at a residence on Sheldon Road in the town of Dryden and were told Barclay left in a vehicle.  Troopers observed that there was a toddler in the vehicle without a car seat that Barclay was operating and that he also appeared to be impaired.  After an investigation, he was arrested with a reportable B.A.C of .13%.  Barclay was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Dryden court on April 29, 2019 then turned over to a sober third party.

On April 13, 2019 at approximately 8:32 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrestedErick Ramallo, age 34 of Oceanside, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .18%.  Troopers observed a vehicle speeding while on State Highway 28 in the town of Middletown.  A traffic stop was initiated and troopers observed common characteristics associated with alcohol impairment.  After an investigation, Ramallo was arrested for Aggravated DWI.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Middletown court on April 30, 2019 then turned over to a sober third party.

On April 13, 2019 at approximately 10:00 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Robert C. Tamburello, age 62 of Burlington Flats, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .26%.  A trooper was dispatched to a vehicle in the ditch near the intersection of State Highways 80 and 205 in the town of Otsego.  After an investigation, he was arrested.  Tamburello was processed and later arraigned in the town of Otsego court where he was released on his own recognizance.  His next court date is scheduled for May 15, 2019.

On April 14, 2019 at approximately 9:21 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Cassia S. Levenshus, age 65 of Middletown, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .18%.  Troopers were dispatched to a one car accident on West Hubble Hill Road and discovered it was unoccupied.  An investigation revealed that Levenshus was operating the vehicle intoxicated when she crashed and subsequently driven to her residence. She was arrested at her residence and transported to SP Margaretville where she was processed.  Levenshus was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Middletown court on April 23, 2019.

On April 15, 2019 at approximately 12:01 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Robin R. Brown, age 58 of Endicott, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C of .10%.  A trooper observed the vehicle that Brown was operating with an equipment violation while on North Street in the village of Endicott.  A traffic stop was initiated and after an investigation, he was arrested.  Brown was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the village of Endicott court on May 8, 2019 then turned over to a sober third party.

New York State Police report that on Monday, March 11, 2019, at approximately 1:25 p.m., troopers attempted to conduct a vehicle and traffic stop on a 2014 Mercedes Benz, ML350, on the eastbound side of the Southern State Parkway, west of State Route 111 (Exit 43), in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County, NY, for traveling at 105 mph.

The operator of the vehicle, Stanley Joiner, age 21, of Wyndanch, NY, attempted to flee.  Following a short pursuit off of the parkway, Joiner lost control of the vehicle and crashed at the intersection of Spur Drive South and Broadway, causing the rupture of an underground natural gas line. The vehicle became immobilized on a telephone pole guy-wire when Joiner and his passenger, Starrief Green, age 20, of Wyndanch, NY, leaped from the vehicle and fled on foot.

Joiner was quickly taken into custody by the pursuing Trooper in a nearby backyard and Green was apprehended by a Suffolk County Police K9 Officer, in a backyard, following a neighborhood search.  Investigation of the incident revealed that Joiner and Green were in possession of Heroin, Fentanyl and Cocaine.  National Grid was notified and quickly responded to the scene, making necessary repairs to the ruptured gas line.

Police say that Joiner and Green were charged with four counts each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B Felony), two counts each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (A Misdemeanor), Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (A Misdemeanor) and Obstructing Governmental Administration (A Misdemeanor).

Joiner was additionally charged with Criminal Mischief 2nd (D Felony), Reckless Endangerment 2nd (A Misdemeanor), Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd (A Misdemeanor), Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor) and Reckless Endangerment of Property (B Misdemeanor) as well as numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  Mr. Joiner and Mr. Green were arraigned on March 12, and were held on $250,000 bond or $100,000 bail.
