A Charleston County sheriff’s deputy arrested on a DUI charge early Sunday told a police officer that he “lost control” before taking out a 10-foot section of guard rail, a police report says. The Charleston police officer arrested 37-year-old Charleston resident Nicholas Wagner on a DUI charge stemming from the 2 a.m. collision on the Interstate 526 West on-ramp at U.S. Highway 17. The report says Wagner “smelled of an alcoholic beverage, had glassy eyes, slurred speech, and he swayed as he walked.” ….MORE
