EL PASO TEXAS– According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, on 08-01-13 a man from Chaparral, NM,  was booked into the Detention Facility for Driving While Intoxicated and having a BAC over 0.15.

Driver/ Jesus Ivan Lerma was arrested by a Sheriff’s Deputy at the 14500 block of Montana Ave., El Paso County Texas, during a traffic stop after Lerma was seen driving at a velocity below the posted speed limit at the 3400 block of N. Zaragosa Rd. (40 in a 60 mph zone) at approximately 4:40 AM.

Lerma was also seen swaying from lanes of travel almost striking a vehicle.

Upon contact with Lerma the Deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from Lerma’s breath.  Based on Lerma’s Standard Field Sobriety Tests administered by the Deputy and intoxillizer (BAC) results of .18., Lerma was charged with DWI BAC over/0.15.
