The Washington State Patrol reports that a family is getting the news this Fourth of July holiday weekend that their family member was killed in a drunk driving crash on July 1, 2017, that took place at 1:0o pm on Rt. 108 six miles east of McCleary, in Mason County, Washington.
Driving the 2002Â Chevy Silverado pickup in which the booze and or drug cruise took place was Todd V. Jones, 25, of Salkum, Washington. Jones was taken to Harborview Hospital for the treatment of injuries he sustained when he piloted his truck at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a turn, went out of control and struck a tree.
A female passenger, identified as Morgan I. Hite, 28, of Akron, Indiana was injured and taken to Mason General for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt, reports Trooper M. Niemann.Â
Charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault are pending against Todd Jones. Â Police are withholding the name of the person Jones killed until the next of kin has been informed.
