MARYLAND: St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports the following persons were arrested for DUI

Calvin-Duane-Morgan-age-40-of-Mechanicsville-was-charged-with-DWI-by-St.-Marys-Sheriff-Dep.-Burgess.

Calvin Duane Morgan, 40, of 26464 Holt Lane, Mechanicsville, Md., was charged with Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol Per Se, and Driving While Impaired by St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Dep. Andrew Burgess on May 19, 2019 at 7:04 pm as he allegedly knowingly operated an uninsured 2002 Acura on St. John’s Road, Hollywood, Md.  A trial is set for July 3, 2019 in St. Mary’s District Court. Morgan will be represented on the slew of traffic and other charges including violating prior restrictions on his drivers permit, not having a permit and operating an unregistered vehicle – all by a free attorney paid for by the hapless taxpayers of Maryland.

  • Morgan entered a guilty plea on March 25, 2019 in Calvert County District Court to operating a 1995 Dodge without a required ignition interlock, a leftover condition of a previous DWI conviction of an event when he decided to risk the lives of anyone else on the highway so he could flaunt his superiority over Judges and prosecutors stupid enough to allow him out of jail and believe that such a restriction could prevent him from driving. Morgan was arrested on Feb. 1, 2019 at 9:38 am by Maryland Trooper Strong. Calvert County States Attorney Andrew Rappaport shirked his responsibility to the citizens of Maryland and keep this nitwit in jail by agreeing to a plea deal that provided a sentence of sixty days in jail and all but four days suspended.
  • On April 27, 2018, at 12:35 am, Morgan was arrested by Maryland Trooper Meurrens as he operated a 1995 Dodge southbound on Rt. 5 north of Md. Rt. 236 for DWI. On Sept. 7, 2018, Morgan picked up a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz and entered a plea of guilty to DWI. THE DEAL: 30 days in jail with 29 days suspended along with unsupervised probation – meaning Morgan was spared the inconvenience to his life of having to check in with a probation officer – for two years.
  • On Feb. 10, 2017, a District Court Judge issued a Final Protective Order for Domestic Violence Child Abuse Indicator in St. Mary’s District Court.
  • While facing charges of rape and child abuse by a custodian, third degree-sex offence and second-degree assault, Morgan entered into a plea deal on April 7, 2003 with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz and entered an Alford Plea, which acknowledges that the prosecution has enough evidence to find him guilty of child abuse and the other charges were dropped. THE DEAL: a sentence of ten years in prison with all but eighteen months suspended. The result of the sentence is that Morgan was allowed to serve his time in the St. Mary’s County Jail instead of the Maryland prison which has violent gangs present and some corrupt guards providing contraband to inmates.
William-Andrew-Burwell-28-of-Lexington-Park-was-charged-with-DWI-by-Dep.-Shelko

William Andrew Burwell, 28, of 46784 Cardigan Place, Lexington Park, Md., was charged with Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Impaired by Dep. Shawn Shelko on May 19, 2019 at 2:35 am as he operated a 2013 Kia on Rt. 235 at Kimberly Road. A court date has been set for July 3, 2019 in St. Mary’s District Court. While eligible for a free attorney, court records show he declined to use one. One of several other charges was for operating the Kia at 84 mph in a 55-speed zone which likely caused the officer to nab Burwell for DWI.

Paul-Allen-Unkle-43-of-Leonardtown-was-charged-with-DWI-by-St.-Mary’s-Sheriff-Dep.-Sidorowicz-on-May-24-2019-2

Paul Allen Unkle, 43, of 27506 Mechanicsville Road, Mechanicsville, Md., was charged with Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Impaired by Alcohol by Dep. Daniel Sidorowicz on May 24, 2019 at 1:06 am. Burwell was operating a 2010 Dodge on Hollywood Road when he was stopped by the Deputy.

On Dec. 19, 2018, Unkle provided an Alford Plea to St. Marys States Attorney Richard Fritz as part of a plea deal, to the charge of disarming a law officer. THE DEAL: Thirty-five days in jail. Unkle pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and was sentenced to jail for four and a half years, all of which was suspended.

Charges of obstructing justice and intimidation of a juror were placed against Unkle on Feb. 7, 2014 by Deputy William Raddatz. The St. Mary’s States Attorney dropped the charges.
