California: Coachella Police charged Christian Serrano with DUI and hit and run

05/12/2014 — According to Sgt. John Clark of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, on Friday, May 09, 2014 at 11:30 P.M. the Coachella Police Department responded to the 53000 block of Calle Olivo reference a non-injury hit and run collision. Witnesses described a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck ran into a parked Ford F150 and fled the area, without providing any information as required. Witnesses provided a description of the Chevrolet pickup truck and also provided a license plate. The Coachella Police contacted the registered owner, Christian Serrano, 19 years old, in the 48900 block of Playa Del Amor, Coachella. Christian Serrano, was determined to have been driving the Chevrolet pickup truck at the time of the collision and was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol/ and or drugs. Serrano was taken to a local area hospital for a precaution prior to being booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.

On Friday May 9, 2014 at 12:02 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a report of a possible drunk driver in a silver Dodge Grand Caravan on Portola Avenue and E. Hovley Lane in the city of Palm Desert. An officer arrived within minutes and located the vehicle on Portola Avenue at Silver Sands Parkway after it had crashed into the side of a Grey Chevrolet Sonic. The driver of the Dodge Caravan was identified as Mary Carmen Ralston, age 64 of Indio. Ralston was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. It was determined intoxication may have been a factor in this collision. Ralston was released at the hospital and charges will be filed out-of-custody.

Joshua Kuehl, DUI La Quinta Police

05/12/2014  — According to Sgt Jon Gaw of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, La Quinta deputies responded to the traffic circle at Jefferson St. and Ave. 52 in La Quinta, CA, regarding a single-vehicle, non-injury traffic collision. The vehicle was driving south on Jefferson St. and drove straight through the traffic circle.

The driver, Joshua Kuehl, age 36, of Van Nuys, CA was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs.  Kuehl was treated at a local hospital as a precaution, and then booked at the Riverside County jail in Indio.
