Maine: State Police list a few of the wild ones for June 18, 2012 charged with operating under the influence (OUI)

The following persons were reported by police as charged with OUI by the Maine State Police:
Troop J Weekly Report
June 2, 2012 — According to the Maine State Police, Trooper Chris Smith investigated a motorcycle crash on Route 182 Township 9. As a result James Freeman (31) of Cherryfield was arrested for operating under the influence and operating after suspension. James’ motorcycle was considered a total loss as a result of the crash. Trooper David Barnard assisted with the investigation.
June 17, 2012 — Trooper Dan Ryan arrested Cody Grimmel (19) for failing to stop and OUI. Trooper Ryan turned on Cody for speeding. Grimmel initially failed to stop but was apprehended by Trooper Ryan shortly after the chase started
June 13, 2012 — Trooper Andy Foss responded to a serious crash with injury in East Machias where the operator of the offending vehicle had fled into the woods. The two vehicles had almost hit head on. A passenger from the other vehicle was transported to Down East Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The subject, who fled, Justin Landeen (27), was located at a nearby residence. Landeen was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash, OUI and violating his bail conditions. Trooper Chad Lindsey, Trooper Miles Carpenter assisted as well as Lieutenant Travis Willey and Sergeant Tabbutt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and Warden Alan Curtis of the Maine Warden Service.
Trooper Reid Bond arrested Corey Hodgkins (20) of Northeast Harbor for operating under the influence of drugs, as a result of a traffic stop on Rt-1 in Cherryfield. Trooper Reid Bond was assisted by Trooper Jason Fowler who conducted a DRE evaluation.


Troop B Weekly Report

Trooper Levy charged a male with OUI and Leaving the Scene of an Accident after being dispatched to a single vehicle crash (in a ditch) on the Livermore / Livermore Falls town line. Livermore Falls PD reported that no one was around the vehicle and they later located the male and detained him until Trooper Levy arrived. He was unable to complete his SFST’s. His BrAC was .21%.
Trooper Wing stopped a truck after he was found doing burnouts in the middle of Rte 26. The operator was put through field sobriety and eventually arrested after the roadside investigation showed he was impaired. His BrAC was .11. He was summonsed for OUI.
While talking to a New Gloucester resident on Sabbathday Rd, Trooper Maguire heard a horrendously loud motorcycle exhaust system accelerating hard and speeding. Trooper Maguire ran out to the Sabbathday Rd and attempted to flag over a motorcyclist heading north. The motorcyclist drove by Trooper Maguire and Trooper Maguire pursued the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist turned around and came back. Further investigation revealed two bald tires, no inspection sticker and driver was OUI. The driver was arrested for OUI Liquor and transported to the SP Gray Barracks for an intoxilyzer test. He blew a .09 BAC and was charged with OUI Liquor, Inadequate tires (2) and Excessive Exhaust Noise.
