What could have simply ended as a great time out for friends at a Sprague bar, the kind of night where all those in attendance leave to go home or to the “no-tell motel” with a designated driver or in a taxi, instead ended up with a woman dead after an incident of TAILGATE SURFING
On April 23, 2016, at 2:27 AM the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a fatality accident that occurred at the intersection of Market and SW 2 Street in Sprague, NE. Through the Sheriff’s Office investigation, it was learned that Amanda Bundy, 29, of Lincoln fell from the tailgate of a pickup that was traveling southbound on Market Street. Bundy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Along with the Sheriff’s Office, members from Southwest Rural Fire, Lincoln Fire & Rescue, and Star Care Air Ambulance responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who was at or near the Traditions Pub in Sprague during the time of the accident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 402-441-6500.
Amanda J. Bundy, 29, Lincoln, passed away April 23, 2016. Born December 15, 1986, in Lincoln, NE, to Clint and Lorie (Witzki) Bundy. Mandy was above all else a loving mother to her son Zachary, whom she adored more than anything. She enjoyed dirt track racing, roller skating and spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Zachary; parents Clint and Lorie Bundy, sister Jenny (A.J. Hoyt); nieces Mackenzie and Tayla and nephew Cody,  and Alivia Hoyt, all of Lincoln; grandparents LaVern and Dorothy Bundy, Davenport, NE; boyfriend, Brian Togstad; Numerous aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by brother Zachary, grandparents Beverly and Earl Witzki, and uncle Greg Witzki.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Capitol City Christian Church, 7800 Holdrege St., Lincoln. Pastor Rusty Miller officiating. Visitation: Wednesday, April 27, 2016, from 4-8 p.m., with family present from 6-8p.m., at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 N. 27th Street.
