Vazques Arrested in Fatal Crash
North Las Vegas, Nevada 12/23/2016 – North Las Vegas police report that a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash which claimed the lives of three women on Dec. 17, 2016.
Police say that on Dec. 21, 2016, officers arrested 27-year-old Ernesto Vazquez, the reported driver of the 2001 Cadillac STS involved in Saturday’s fatal collision. Â Vazquez was booked in absentia as he is still hospitalized with injuries resulting from the crash.
Vazquez is charged with DUI resulting in death, DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, and reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm. Due to his absentia booking a booking photo is not available at this time.
The women were with a group of five friends who had been Christmas shopping. North Las Vegas Police say that they were driving in a Hyundai sedan when Vazquez, in a speeding Cadillac, ran through a stop sign and crashed into their car.

Vazques is the reported driver of the 2001 Cadillac STS involved in Saturday’s fatal collision that took place around 10 a.m. at Allen Lane and Colton Avenue just north of West Cheyenne.
Danyell Young, Yaneisha Ficklin, and Qua’tajah Macklin were killed in the crash.
The five young woman in their early twenties were on their way from a shopping trip. One of the women had just turned 21. MORE
