LAS VEGAS (09/24/2017) — Two men were killed early Saturday when a person suspected of driving under the influence ran a red light west of the Strip.
The crash occurred about 3:10 a.m. at West Spring Mountain and Polaris Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The alleged drunk driver, identified as 33-year-old Las Vegas resident Patrick Lacy Jr., ran a red light in his 2006 Dodge Charger and struck a 2014 Ford Fiesta in the intersection, killing two men, one believed to be in his 30s and the other in his 50s.
Police told News 3 that Lacy had been driving aggressively on Interstate 15 and exited just before the crash. He was taken to the hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The deaths are the 94th and 95th in LVMPD’s jurisdiction this year.
The Clark County coroner will release the name of the victims once they have been identified and relatives have been notified. MORE
