The Bernalillo police chief responds to one of his undercover police officers arrested at a DWI checkpoint early Saturday morning.
The chief said Saturday Detective Berto Chavez refused an alcohol test, but was not tossed in jail.  The undercover narcotics detective was riding his motorcycle around 2:15 Saturday morning when he came across an APD DWI checkpoint on Coors near Intel.
