Beck’s Snow Job Ends Life of Sign Post; Awarded DWI

 

2014-02-08 — New York State Police report that on February 5, 2014, at 8:30 am, Fredonia-based State Police were dispatched to an accident on State Route 20, in the Town of Pomfret. Upon arrival, the operator Robert K Beck III, age 49, from Dunkirk, NY, was found to be injured as well as intoxicated. Beck had been traveling east on State Route 20 when he struck a sign post on the south side of the road ending up in a snow embankment. EMS transported Beck to Brooks Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released. Beck was issued tickets for Driving While Intoxicated and Speed not Reasonable and Prudent returnable to the Town of Pomfet Court on February 18, 2014.

2014-02-08 –  On February 5, 2014 New York State Police report that a trooper  arrested Terri J Cartalano, 5,1 of Cattaraugus, NY for DWI when they stopped to check for a disabled vehicle on ST-62 in the Town of Leon.  Cartalano was transported to SP Jamestown where a BAC of .09 was obtained.  She was issued tickets for Driving While Intoxicated returnable to the Town of Leon Court and released.

2014-02-08 — New York State Police report that on February 4, 2014 at approximately 12 a.m., State Police in Ray Brook conducted a traffic stop on Bloomingdale Avenue, Saranac Lake on a 1999 red Chevrolet Cavalier.

The operator, 21-year-old Joshua J. Buchanen of Lake Placid, was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.

His blood alcohol content was determined to be .15%. Buchanen was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor). He was also ticketed for inadequate headlight. He is scheduled to appear at the Town of Harrietstown Court on February 12, 2014 at 10 a.m.

Man charged with driving his car on its roof after DWI flip-over

Simmons David Simmons

2014-02-08 –  On February 4, 2014 at approximately 3:20 p.m., State Police in Potsdam responded to a report of a vehicle roll-over accident on State Route 11 in the Town of Potsdam.

20-year-old David W. Simmons of DeKalb Junction, had been operating a 2012 gray Chevrolet Impala on State Route 11 in Potsdam when he exited the north shoulder of the road, striking a snow bank. The vehicle then overturned onto it’s roof. Simmons was not injured.

Simmons was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. His blood alcohol content was determined to be .27%, more than three times the legal limit. Simmons was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated for having a blood alcohol content of .18% or more. He was also ticketed for speed not reasonable.

He is to appear at the Town of Potsdam Court on February 13, 2014 at 9:30 a.m.

Speeding caught trooper’s attention to DWI driver

2014-02-08  – New York State Police report that on February 4, 2014 at approximately 8:47 p.m., State Police in Schroon Lake conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Honda Accord, on I-87 in the Town of Schroon.

The operator, 61-year-old Scott R. Phillips of Landenberg, PA, was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Phillips’ blood alcohol content was determined to be .14%.  Phillips was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor). He was further ticketed for speeding.

Phillips was arraigned at the Town of Schroon Court and was released under his own recognizance. He is to reappear in the Town of Schroon Court on February 10, 2014 at 11 a.m.

2014-02-08 —  (Afton, NY – January 31, 2014) On January 29, 2014, troopers at SP Sidney arrested Randy A. Leizear,  58, of Bainbridge, NY for driving while intoxicated with a reportable BAC result of .15%. The arrest resulted from a vehicle and traffic law stop for a turn signal violation on Maple Street in  Afton, NY.  The investigation determined that he was intoxicated while driving at that time.  Mr. Leizear was issued tickets returnable to the Village of Afton Court on February 3, 2014.

State Police conduct Underage Drinking Initiative in Oneida County

2014-02-08  — (Remsen, NY -) – On February 2, 2014, the New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative compliance check of local establishments in Oneida County. As part of the initiative 17 establishments serving or selling alcohol within this area were checked for their compliance with the laws of the State of New York, relative to prohibiting sales of alcohol to persons under the age of twenty-one.  As a result of the operation the following was charged with one count of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st degree and Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage under the Alcohol Beverage Control law:

School Bus Driver Arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated

2014-02-08 — On February 3, 2014, the New York State Police from Williamson, NY, report that they arrested Julynn M. Criscuolo – dob 4/29/68, from Sodus, NY. Criscuolo was charged with:

Aggravated DWI – operating a school bus upon the public highway with a BAC of .18% or higher

DWI – operating a school bus upon the public highway with a BAC of .08% or higher

DWI – operating a school bus in an intoxicated condition

All of the above charges are felonies, and stem from an incident where Criscuolo was employed by the Wayne Central school district, and operated a bus while in an intoxicated condition on October 30, 2013.

Later that same day Criscuolo was involved in a serious personal injury MVA that occurred in the T/Macedon, and was arrested by the Macedon PD on 11/01/13.

Criscuolo was arraigned before Wayne County Court Judge Dennis Kehoe, and remains free on bail.

Schuyler County Man Arrested for Aggravated DWI

2014-02-08  – Jesse Mace, 52 of Alpine was arrested following a traffic stop in the village of Odessa.  Mace was charged with DWI and Aggravated DWI for having a BAC of .18% or higher.  He was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to the village of Odessa Court.
Canisteo Man Arrested for Felony DWI

2014-02-08 — The New York State Police report that a trooper arrested 45 year old Paul Banko of Canisteo and charged him with Felony DWI and Aggravated DWI for having a BAC of .18% or higher.  He was arraigned in the town of Hornellsville and released on his own recognizance to reappear at a later date.  Banko had a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years making this charge a felony.
