New York: State Police report Michael W. Brown leads list of DWI arrests

Claverack, NY – According to the New York State Police, on June 29, 2013, New York State Police arrested Michael W. Brown, 45 years old, of Waltham, NY for Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Mr. Brown was parked in the parking lot of a closed business in the Town of Claverack at 3:00 AM Saturday morning.

Troopers observed the occupied vehicle and entered the parking lot to investigate. As the Troopers entered the parking lot, the vehicle was observed exiting the parking lot through the ‘do not enter’ driveway and fails to use directional signal while turning onto State Route 66.

During the traffic stop, the operator was observed to be visibly intoxicated and was in possession of marihuana. Mr. Brown was issued uniform traffic tickets for the vehicle and traffic law violations and arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court on the above charges. Town Justice Brandon remanded him to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $750.00 cash or $1500.00 bond with a return date to the Town of Claverack Court on July 16, 2013.

 SP Jamestown – Fluvanna woman charged with Driving While Intoxicated

July 4 – Bemus Point – Rebecca A. Wojciechowicz, 22, of Jamestown was charged with Driving While Intoxicated after being stopped on Bemus-Ellery Rd.  She was stopped after swerving from her lane multiple times.  She was found to be intoxicated by troopers after failing sobriety tests.  She was processed at SP Jamestown and released to appear in Ellery Town Court.

Boozy ATV Ride Nets Ransford Johnson 3rd DWI arrest

New York State Police report that on July 2nd, 2013, Trooper KEITH MULAWKA arrested RANSFORD JOHNSON, 34, of Ashville, for Felony Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.  Trooper MULAWKA responded to a complaint of a male riding an ATV on Blockville Watts Flats Road in a reckless manner and identified JOHNSON as the male subject.  JOHNSON was placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests and transported to the State Police barracks in Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of .22.  As JOHNSON had been convicted of DWI twice in the past ten years, the charge was upgraded to a felony.  JOHNSON was then processed, arraigned in the Town of Ellicott Court, and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

Brian M. Ratzel lost battle with tree but won a winning DWI ticket for effort

On June 28, 2013 Trooper Joseph Butler arrested Brian M. Ratzel, 22, of Franklinville, NY for DWI. Ratzel was arrested following an investigation into a one vehicle crash which occurred on East Hill Rd in the Town of Lyndon on June 19, 2013. Ratzel was the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a tree. Ratzel was transported to Olean General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. Ratzel is to answer the charge in the Town of Lyndon Court.

Hornell Woman Arrested for Felony DWI and Aggravated DWI

On June 27th, Horseheads State Police responded to a report of an erratic driver on Dutch Hill Road in the Town of Big Flats.  Following an investigation, Bridget L. Beaver, 29, of Hornell was arrested for Felony Driving While Intoxicated, for having a previous DWI conviction, and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .21%.  She was also found to be involved in a hit and run accident involving several mailboxes on Hendy Creek Road.  Beaver was arraigned in Town of Big Flats Court before Judge Hess and remanded to the Chemung County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1000 property bond.
Van Etton Man Arrested for Aggravated DWI

On June 27th, Painted Post State Police responded to a property damage accident on Hornby Road. Following an investigation, Andrew L. Shook, 24, of Van Etton was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .18%.  He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Corning Court on July 8, 2013.
IL Man Jailed for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated

On June 27th, Dundee State Police arrested Brad L. Baer, 60, of Collinsville, IL for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .18% and speeding (53/40) following a traffic stop.  He was arraigned in the Town of Montour Falls Court before Judge Spaccio and remanded to the Schuyler County Jail in lieu of $2500 cash bail.
