SOUTH CAROLINA: Benjamin Lockliear charged with two counts of felony DUI following fatal crash in Andrews
ANDREWS, S.C. – According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Spokesman Cpl. Judd Jones, the operator of a truck, Benjamin C. Lockliear, 37, of Andrews S.C., crashed into another vehicle on Oct. 19, 2019, at 7:40 pm causing a fatality. The deceased has been identified as Ashley Avant of Georgetown County, S.C.
Cpl. Jones reported that Lockliear was driving a 2014 GMC pickup and hit a 2010 Chevy SUV that was traveling in front of him while westbound on Seaboard Road in Andrews, S.C., and killed the driver.
A passenger in the Chevy SUV was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center with serious injuries.
Lockliear was charged with two counts of felony DUI and booked into the Williamsburg County Jail where he remains pending a hearing. Vinelink confirms that Benjamin Cecil Lockliear remains in custody in the Williamsburg County Jail.
