FAIRFAX, VA. — 11/27/2017 —  Fairfax County Police report that a driver performed his field sobriety test with his car instead of walking the line. In this guy’s test, he showed an officer he couldn’t drive his vehicle between the lane stripes on Route 50 near Stringfellow Road, 11/25/17 around 2:44 a.m.

Police reported that an officer was at a red light when a motorist side-swiped his cruiser and continued down the road.

The officer activated his lights and the vehicle came to a stop a short distance later after running a red light. Ramiro Costas, 47, of Nokesville, was arrested and charged with DWI. The officer was not injured in the accident.

Costas’ driving record shows he has been convicted of speeding, driving without a permit, and failing to yield the right of way in Fairfax County.

In Prince William County, Costas was cited for failing to stop and yield when entering a highway on Oct. 28, 2011.  Court records show he didn’t bother to show and was found guilty in absentia and fined $100 plus costs of $72.00 on Dec. 5, 2011.  On Dec. 5, 2016, Costas was cited by Officer M. A. Flynn with driving with improper control and was found guilty in Prince William District Court on March 3, 2017.  Costas was also cited for tailgating and operating an uninspected vehicle.
