The Kane County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched at 2:15 a.m. on Friday morning to a traffic crash with injuries on Burr Rd. south of Hawkins Ln. in unincorporated St. Charles Township.
The investigation indicated that Peruzza was traveling south on Burr Rd. For an unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway and flipped eventually coming to a rest in a tree line on the east side of Burr Rd.
Prior to the arrival of deputies, Peruzza had been able to exit the vehicle; however, the vehicle was on fire.
After the fire was extinguished, Hanson was found deceased inside the vehicle. Peruzza was transported to Delnor Hospital with apparent non-life threatening injuries, prior to his release.
Kane County Coroner Rob Russell said that due to the nature of the crash, Hanson’s body was initially unidentifiable, prior to toxicology samples being sent off.  MORE

GOFUNDME for funeral costs:
Nick was such an incredible young man of Christ & will forever hold such a special place in my heart. I was blessed to have met his kind soul in the very beginning of sixth grade & would often see his sweet, contagious smile then, in high school, & even in the halls at Waubonsee. Nick, I will always cherish the memories we made together teaching Sunday School at church & our countless conversations about Clemson & Alabama. You have touched so many lives in the most remarkable way. Thank you in advance for donating to help the Hanson family with funeral costs.
