Louisiana: Councilman Chris Davis says he is sorry for taking a shot at killing folks while drunk driving, crashing, fleeing police

DENHAM SPRINGS – Councilman Chris Davis apologized to the public Monday night for a weekend incident in which he was booked on DWI and other counts.
“This past weekend I made a poor decision,” Davis said after asking to speak at the beginning of the City Council meeting. “I regret the effect my poor decision has had on others.”
In an otherwise uneventful meeting, Davis said he takes full responsibility for his actions and added that he is taking steps to correct issues in his personal life.
State Police booked Davis into the Livingston Parish Detention Center Sunday around 5:30 a.m. on first-offense DWI, hit-and-run driving, careless operation of a motor vehicle, having no driver’s license on his person, having no proof of insurance and fleeing from an officer, State Police spokesman Russell Graham said.
Davis drove away from an accident at La. 16 and Amite Church Road and was taken into custody later at his home, Graham said ….MORE
