When the Deputies located the scene of the rollover, they found a 15-year-old female passenger deceased in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old George Jakob Schafer, was located and arrested for DUI, automobile homicide, underage consumption of alcohol, and leaving the scene of an accident. The details of the crash are still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Utah Highway Patrol. Our condolences go out to the family for their loss.

The following was one of many replies to the Facebook post of the Millard County Sheriff’s Office:

Tyler Thomas Wright He was located?!? No, he left to get help. After two people turned him away, he came to my house. He told me what happened, we got in my car, and he then showed me where the accident happened. You didn’t locate and arrest him. He came back when he had help, then turned himself in. Don’t lie to make yourselves sound better.

Autumn Edwards K, NOT ONLY is the Ortiz family torn apart! The whole community is! Family, friends, teacher, everyone! The Shaper family is torn apart and hurt also!!! So grow up and stop making the Shaper family feel worse and more hurt than they already are!!!!

Andrea Janzen They both chose to drink and they both chose to ride in that car while he was intoxicated. She free will chose to ride with Jakob and quit blaming whose at fault. They were both wrong for drinking. Stop blaming it all on him they need to find the person who bought all of the underage persons alcohol. Tyler Thomas Wright is right you need to all stick together and support both families that are grieving their losses. My condolences and prayers go out to both families may they find the peace that they are looking for
