George Jakob Schafer charged with DUI homicide for killing 15-year-old passengers in crash
From Millard County Sheriff:
In the early morning hours of December 1st, Deputies responded to an individual knocking on doors in the Deseret area trying to get a ride. This individual had told one person he had been in a crash.
When the Deputies located the scene of the rollover, they found a 15-year-old female passenger deceased in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old George Jakob Schafer, was located and arrested for DUI, automobile homicide, underage consumption of alcohol, and leaving the scene of an accident. The details of the crash are still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Utah Highway Patrol. Our condolences go out to the family for their loss.

Tyler Thomas Wright He was located?!? No, he left to get help. After two people turned him away, he came to my house. He told me what happened, we got in my car, and he then showed me where the accident happened. You didn’t locate and arrest him. He came back when he had help, then turned himself in. Don’t lie to make yourselves sound better.

Noelia Orona Peña, age 15, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017, after a tragic car accident in Hinckley, Utah. She was born March 9, 2002, in Phoenix, Arizona to Noe Orona Bojorquez and Susana Rebeca Peña Enriquez Orona. She grew up as the youngest with her four brothers. She kept up with them with a similar adventurous spirit and enjoyed participating in their activities. She like being outdoors, enjoying long walks, playing soccer, and riding her longboard to skate around town. She even recently wanted to start boxing. She was quiet and shy, but always happy with a fun spirit and a smile on her face. She loved music of all kinds. She had lots of friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She has long looked forward to her Quinceañera, which was a wonderful celebration that she was able to experience last May. She loved life and was excited about everything she had the opportunity to do.
She is survived by her parents: Noe and Susana Orona; brothers: Jose, Arturo, Horacio, and Santiago; nieces: Giselle, Mitzy, Ashima; nephew: Mason. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Jose and Lidia Peña; Guadalupe and Carmen Orona.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, at 11:00 AM, at the Nickle Mortuary Chapel, 190 South Center St, Delta, Utah. A Viewing will be held Wednesday, 9:30-10:40 AM, prior to the service. Condolences may be left at www.nicklemortuary.com
